Fall is a great time to join a book club!
Reading is good for your mind and soul. Book clubs expand your reading horizons and motivate you to read — and finish the book! You also get to meet new people and make new friends.
The English Language Book Club Bonn was launched in June 2019 within the Tannenbusch House community. The idea behind it is to create a space for an intercultural exchange and a discussion on contemporary world literature. The book club is open to everyone interested in reading and discussing books in the English language from authors around the globe.
Book Club members pick monthly a book that they want to share and discuss at the end of the month. The club meets usually every 4th Thursday of the month in the evening at the Tannenbusch House (Oppelner Straße 69, 53119 Bonn). However, due to Covid19 precautions the meetings are now taking place online or in a hybrid format. That means, you can also join virtually from your home in Bonn or anywhere in the world. The October book is The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. The US-American journalist and writer published her debut novel in 2005. The book became an international bestseller. The autobiography novel, recounting her unconventional, poverty-stricken upbringing, was translated into 23 languages and adapted as a feature film released in 2017.
